Custom Fields/Authority to Leave
Authority to Leave
StarterA simple checkbox that customers tick to authorise the courier to leave their parcel without a signature. If the customer tries to place their order without ticking the box, a configurable error message is shown. The response is saved as an order attribute.
Settings reference
| Setting | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Checkbox label | Text | Label for the ATL checkbox, e.g. "Authority to leave". |
| Disclaimer | Text | Small print shown below the checkbox explaining what ATL means. |
| Error message | Text | Message shown if the customer tries to place their order without ticking the box. |
| Block key | Text | Paste the block key from the Authority to Leave admin page. |
How it works
- Single checkbox rendered at checkout.
- Optional disclaimer text shown below the checkbox.
- Intercepts the Place Order button — if the customer tries to proceed without ticking the box, a configurable error message is displayed.
- When ticked, the consent is saved as an order attribute ("Authority to Leave: Yes") visible in Shopify admin.
- Common for Australian and NZ stores where ATL is a standard courier option.
- Configure in the app, then paste the block key into the Checkout Editor block.
